My name is Jayne and I decided to set up Confident Ladies after going through some life changes and after each of these I was left thinking, 'Ok, what do I do now?'
I divorced after 14 years of marriage I was left with three small daughters and four bin bags full of our belongings. It was scary stuff! I muddled through and over the next year or so I found a full time job, sorted out child care, found a house, sorted a will, sorted out life insurance. More importantly I managed to sort out myself which ultimately led to me sorting out my life. It has been a bit like a game of Snakes and Ladders. Sometimes I'd feel like things were progressing really well then one of those pesky Snakes would come along and I'd slip and slide back a few places again.
After being in the Business world for a number of years; Last year a big Snake came to get me when I was made redundant. This was a difficult time not least from the lack of income but also from what I felt was my lack of identity; my business suit had become my uniform - what was I going to do and who was I going to be without it?
This year I believe the biggest snake i've had to face came along when my Dad was diagnoised with Cancer and passed away five weeks later in August 2009. However, life and my Dad, taught me that there can often be something good around the corner if your eyes are open to the opportunites around you and with the right support the difficulties life throws us can be the perfect time to make positive changes.
My story isn't special; talk to any woman and they will have been through events that are similar and many that are much much worse. Women today wear so many 'hats'. Life and business isn't always straightforward but more often than not the support of others will help.
Confident Ladies fulfills the needs of the 'whole woman'.
